Legacies: The Main Characters, Ranked by Power | ScreenRant
The CW's Legacies, the second spinoff of The Vampire Diaries, features the children of well-loved characters from The Vampire Diaries and The Originals as well as their friends and frenemies--legacies in their own right. While the town of Mystic Falls hasn't been as prominent in this series, that is changing this season with Josie choosing to go to Mystic Falls high school rather than the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted.
Some of the side human characters are also beginning to become main characters. Still, the majority of the characters are those with supernatural powers. Be it werewolf, vampire, witch, necromancer, or human--who of Legacies and this present-day Mystic Falls is the most powerful of all?
10 Sheriff Mac and Family
Sheriff Mac and her family slowly move into more important characters. Sheriff Mac was (and maybe still is) Alaric's love interest. Maya (her daughter) once befriended Hope, and Ethan (her son) is now seemingly friends with MG.
While this family is interesting and open-minded and while they have power/status, they aren't originally from Mystic Falls. As such, they have been kept out of the loop about the supernatural history of the town. Eventually, Alaric does let Sheriff Mac remember and know about their supernatural experiences. However, she doesn't react well and leaves town. Intelligence, knowledge, and adaptability are what make humans powerful in this world. So far, this family has a ways to go.
9 Alaric
For a human, Alaric has a lot of power. He was a vampire hunter in the past. He also has thorough knowledge of the supernatural and local history. In many ways, his mind and history would rank him higher on this list. However, he doesn't possess supernatural powers and is therefore limited.
Sure, he knows how to throw students into an alternate world, but he doesn't always know how to get them out without help. While he's respected as a leader by his students, ultimately, he is more fragile than many of them.
8 Rafael
Rafael is a werewolf, part of a family of werewolves. Solo, he's had to make his own understanding of that world with Landon's help until he goes to the school. Quickly, Rafael becomes the alpha of the werewolf pack. However, unlike other werewolves, he both enjoys his pack and his friends outside of the pack. He is a powerful werewolf, but he's also a compassionate and well-liked person--both of which are superpowers as well.
On top of this, Rafael is resilient and an actual descendent of King Arthur, which gives him the power to take the sword from the stone and slay the monster. Yet, for all of his powers, he easily is overtaken by the Necromancer.
7 Landon
Landon possesses a unique power--he's a Phoenix, meaning that he dies and comes back to life. It's this power that saves him from being controlled by the Necromancer. When Rafael is brought back to life and the Necromancer removes his control, it means that Rafael will slowly die since he had been dead. The same isn't true for Landon. Killed and then brought to life, his last Phoenix-life saves him from suffering that same fate.
Although Landon is no longer a Phoenix, he's still the son of Malivore--a unique connection with power that is still murky at times, but one that also saved him from death. Now, Landon also possesses intelligence and faith--two powers that help him escape a hell dimension.
6 MG
MG is a young vampire with a heart of gold. Reminiscent of The Vampire Diaries' Stefan, MG is also a ripper and has to be careful about blood. However, unlike Stefan, MG seems to be able to control his nature better, partly due to his friendship with Kaleb--a true friend who holds him accountable.
While MG has the powers associated with vampires, he also is extraordinarily kind. He's willing to be the shoulder for others to lean on and he cares about his friends. That earnestness helps him survive attempts on his life and help others.
5 Kaleb
Still, in terms of vampire powers, Kaleb is the more powerful vampire. Kaleb doesn't turn into a Ripper. He has a positive relationship with blood and can control himself. Since he is able to consume human blood and control his consumption of it, his powers are stronger.
Additionally, Kaleb cares about his human family and MG. He is like the kinder Damon (The Vampire Diaries) in this series. And just like Damon, he is a capable and strong vampire. However, differently from Damon, Kaleb is consistently on the side of the heroes.
4 Necromancer
The monster to beat is the Necromancer. Delightfully evil, the Necromancer was powerful before he took the dark magic from Josie. Now, he is even more powerful and he also seems to be one step ahead of many of the characters. He's even able to bring other monsters in Malivore back into the real world and to get them to bend to his will.
Yet, he's also tricked by certain main characters multiple times. His downfall is his ego and sense of superiority. Otherwise, the Necromancer is scarily powerful. Not only can he kill anyone, but he can bring them back and bend them to his will.
3 Alyssa
It's not that Alyssa is necessarily more powerful than the Necromancer, but she's certainly smarter. Alyssa pretended to align with him, fed his ego, and she knew how to protect herself rather than share Rafael's fate.
Alyssa is aware that others see her as an outcast or a villain, and she used that to her advantage. While others assumed that she had joined with the Necromancer, she was trying to figure out a way to beat him or to at least give herself more time. Alyssa is a powerful witch but she's also extremely clever. Fans may not like her, but they should respect her.
2 The Gemini Twins: Lizzie and Josie
As the last survivors of the powerful Gemini coven, Lizzie and Josie were born into power and from power--literally. If it weren't for the rest of the Gemini coven trying to save the unborn twins from Jo's stabbed and dying body, they wouldn't be alive. Magically transferred to Caroline's womb--they were a miracle. As children, they proved powerful--able to siphon complex spells before they were proficient in reading and writing. Under Bonnie's guidance, they even learned to create a prison world.
As teens, these two continue to be powerful. Unlike other siphons, these two grew up with their unique power not being labeled as evil. Also, they learned to control it. While Dark Josie proved more powerful than Lizzie, making it seem that Josie is the more powerful twin, really these two are the most powerful when they work together.
1 Hope
As far as miracles grow, Hope's existence is the most miraculous of all. Born from an original vampire/hybrid (Klaus) and a strong werewolf queen (Hayley), she is also the granddaughter of one of the most powerful witches of all time. On top of that, Hope is a first-born daughter, meaning that she's even more powerful.
Apart from her unique triad powers, Hope was taught how to control and expand her powers by very powerful teachers/mentors. For instance, her Aunt Freya, a centuries-old and powerful witch, helped her harness, expand, and understand her magic. Additionally, Hope's powers allow her to escape Malivore and to rescue Lizzie from a Gemini-death and Josie from her dark self. Even the Necromancer fears Hope's powers, proving that if she were a foe, she'd be both a powerful and a persistent one. Luckily, she's one of the good guys.
