Big Brother Brazil: Lucas Koka Self-Evicts After Historic 1st Gay Kiss On The Show
Lucas Koka Penteado and Gilberto Nogueira shared the first gay kiss in the history of the show on Big Brother Brazil 21, but Lucas then chose to self-evict after being accused of using Gil to further his game. Two weeks in, this has been a very messy season of BBB. In 2020, Big Brother Brazil 20 went on to become the most successful season in the history of the show, with one of the elimination blocks garnering a Guinness Record-breaking 1.5 billion public votes. This year, the pressure was on for the cast to deliver a show that was equally as dynamic and entertaining.
Unfortunately, Big Brother Brazil 21 has been a very wild and weird season so far. Producers once again put together a cast that is one-half celebrities/influencers and one-half anonymous people. But unlike last year, the fans have been somewhat disappointed in the casting choices that were made on the show. Rapper Karol Conká is arguably facing the biggest amount of backlash from the viewers, despite being one of the most popular celebrities who were cast on the show. Overall, Karol is being criticized for how she has been mistreating co-stars Lucas Koka, Juliette Freire, and Carla Diaz inside the house.
In the midst of so much controversy, Lucas Koka and Gilberto Nogueira made history last night in the Big Brother Brazil 21 live feeds. Seemingly out of nowhere, Lucas and Gilberto shared a kiss during the latest BBB21 party, which became the first gay kiss in the history of the show. For context, Gil had declared himself to be gay since day one. In turn, Lucas had never spoken out about being bisexual and had only pursued women in the house thus far. After the kiss, Lucas came out as a bisexual man. However, some houseguests had a hard time believing Lucas and went as far as claiming that he was using Gilberto's sexuality to further his own popularity in the competition.
After so much drama and so many arguments that took place on Saturday night, Lucas Koka Penteado chose to self-evict from Big Brother Brazil 21. Considering the context surrounding Lucas' decision to quit the show and the fact that self-evictions are very rare on Big Brother, the fans are extremely shocked that this happened, particularly when it's so early in the season. The last self-eviction on BBB was Alan Marinho Lopes on season 16, which was five years ago.
The viewers are hoping that Big Brother Brazil 21 can find a way to get back on track after having two extremely dramatic weeks. Alas, the jury is still out on whether this cast will be able to pull it off.
