Fast & Furious: What Your Favorite Character Says About You
After the detailed Super Bowl trailer, there is a lot of hope that F9 will drop in May as scheduled. The Fast & Furious franchise has become one of the most addictive Hollywood offerings in recent times. With a new villain—who also happens to be Dom's 'brother'— fans are eager to see what happens next.
So far, there hasn't been a major miss in terms of character introductions. Every new petrolhead or villain that has joined the franchise has appealed to fans. The characters that were there from the early films haven't seen a drop in form either. Everyone is still as intriguing as they have ever been. However, that's not to say there aren't some that are favored more than others. But what is it that draws fans to them?
10 Dominic "Dom" Toretto
Dom is the real definition of career growth. He moves from engaging in illegal street racing to conducting multi-million dollar heists across the world. He is aggressive and fearless. Dom would do anything for both his immediate family and his friends, who he also refers to as 'family.' When Cipher kidnaps his son, he does everything to get him back.
Family and friends mean everything to every Dom admirer. If you love the main protagonist the most, you likely have a strong bond with those close to you. You hate growing alone, hence why you always share your opportunities with them. You are not only hardworking but you have also figured out how to keep achieving more in life.
9 Luke Hobbs
It can be argued that the introduction of Luke Hobbs is what hurtled the Fast & Furious movies into the big leagues of Hollywood franchises. The former DSS agent starts as Dom's enemy. He hunts him down but eventually realizes that the man is too smart to hate, so he begins working with him. Hobbs works with Dom's crew in apprehending Owen and Deckard Shaw. He later bonds with Deckard and works with him too.
If Hobbs is your guy, you have the ability to turn enemies into friends very easily. No grudge ever lasts long for you. People probably identify you as a tough person. Despite your penchant for throwing yourself in dangerous situations and healing quite quickly, you are generally a nice person.
8 Roman Pierce
Roman is known for being skeptical and hesitant. He almost backs out of the Rio heist before hearing that the payoff is $100 million. He is also been reluctant to do dangerous tasks like jumping out of planes. On the brighter side, he is a fun-loving guy who works hard and plays hard. He's been seen partying in private jets after heists and purchasing cars that no one else has.
If your favorite is Roman, you are probably a little hesitant and need convincing to get on board with the more adventurous things in life (even if they are actually a benefit to you). There is a chance that other people find you hilarious too as Roman always stands out as the joker of Dom's crew.
7 Deckard Shaw
Deckard morphs from villain to hero, which is commendable. Apart from the fact that he can babysit while engaging in a gunfight, Deckard has many other admirable qualities. Unlike Brixton Lore and Owen, he is a man of honor. He refused to work for the terrorist organization Eteon. He also refused Cipher's offer to build the Nightshade.
If you like Deckard, you care a lot about your family. The character has been shown to have great relationships with his mother, brother, and sister. You can cause plenty of destruction too when you feel aggrieved but you are not necessarily evil. In fact, you are repulsed by evil people. Most importantly, you are not resistant to change and making yourself a better person.
6 Mia Toretto
Dom and Brian have a habit of leaping before they look. Luckily, they have Mia to always remind them to tone it down. For example, she begs Dom to stop fighting Hobbs in Fast Five. Her driving, intelligence, and surveillance skills become evident during the Rio heist. Mia's loving nature is further seen when she protects Jack and Elena by offering herself to Shaw's henchmen.
If Mia is the best in your book, one can bet that you are the caring type too. You don't let your loved ones go down paths of self-destruction as you watch. To top that, you are always ready to trade your self-comfort so that others can benefit. You are not one to just sit and watch others have all the fun either. You are more than glad to jump into the action... as long as it's safe.
5 Brian O'Connor
Brian abandons his work in law enforcement twice to engage in criminal activities. He first leaves the LAPD then leaves the FBI. Brian enjoys putting himself in extreme danger. This is evident throughout the franchise, with good examples being the Carter Verone boat chase and the train chase while going after Hernan Reyes's chip.
Love Brian? Your adoration translates to you being a thrill seeker. You find it fun to break rules rather than live by them. Doing nice things tends to bore you, so you always find yourself seeking more exciting and dangerous activities.
4 Han Seoul-Oh
Han can tell that Gisele is ex-Mossad just by watching how she holds a gun. He also seems to wear his heart on his sleeve as the audience can see that he falls in love quite easily. Despite only knowing Giselle for a short while, he suggests that they move in together and start a family. His decision to become a member of Dom's crew simply stems from the fact that he admires the man.
If you love Han, you are the type of person to have role models with who you would never hesitate to team up if need be. You are a firm believer in love too. Losing lovers devastates as is the case for Han when Gisele dies. Your observational skills are remarkable as well, making you able to see things that others don't.
3 Letty Ortiz
"Nobody makes me do anything I don't want to." This quote from Letty to Brian O'Connor sums up her personality. Even while working for Owen Shaw, Letty never forgets her true family. And when Don gets blackmailed by Cipher and begins working for her, she doesn't give up on him. Unlike everyone else, she believes he will be back to his former self.
Letty admirers are loving by nature. They make great partners because they never give up on their partners even when these partners are on a downward spiral. They are brave and confrontational too, not being able to stand being demeaned by anyone.
2 Tej Parker
Tej is an underrated superhuman. He can race, he can fix cars and he can hack computers. While learning all those skills, he somehow found time to work out and stay in shape. He prefers cars to romantic partners, saying: "Cars don't take half of your wealth when you part ways."
Any Tej fan is likely to be humble and reserved. Your love for the character means you are a low-key genius. Nothing is too hard for you to do, thanks to your high IQ. In line with how Tej goes back to his garage, even after mega heists instead of celebrating like his associates, one can assume that you don't like the high-maintenance lifestyle and prefer to have a simple and straight-forward life.
1 Mr. Nobody
Mr. Nobody is actually somebody. Somebody big, but he chooses to hide his real name. The government agent allows Dom to use the God's Eye program, despite Dom thinking he'd turn his back on him. He also bonds with Dom over beer and is friendly to most of the crew members. Age hasn't limited his fighting skills either, as seen during the gunfight with Jakande's men.
Being a Mr. Nobody fan means you are secretive. You would prefer that people know only what they need to know. You are a friendly person who keeps their word hence people developed trust in you very easily.
