Justice League's Future Heroes Revealed By DC | Screen Rant

Warning! Spoilers for Future State: Justice League #2 below.

DC Comics has revealed potential recruits for the Justice League with a handful of new heroes taking the spotlight. At the end of Future State: Justice League, the future Justice League team finally caved in and decided to allow new members. On the issue's final page, the potential recruits are shown and there's a lot of recognizable faces.

The Justice League of DC's dark future is one of the most powerful superteams ever assembled. However, unlike teams of old, they have strict rules about both membership and fraternizing outside of the team. Despite Jon Kent Superman's pleas to consider adding more talent to the roster, the Justice League was shown as being opposed to expanding. However, after defeating the Hyperclan in Future State: Justice League #2, the future league decides its time to reconsider new heroes to join the likes of Superman, Wonder Woman (Yara Flor), Flash (Jess Chambers) Aquawoman (Andy Curry), and Batman (Jace Fox).

In Future State: Justice League #2 by Joshua Williamson, Robson Rocha, Daniel Henriques, Romulo Fajardo Jr., and Tom Napolitano, the team takes down the imposter Hyperclan members, as the book soon flashes forward a few months. The team is shown to have changed their rules quite a bit, as Jo Mullein's Green Lantern is voted the team's leader, they all reveal their secret identities, and they actively seek out new recruits. The final page shows the group of heroes the Justice League is considering for membership.

The characters shown in the hologram are heroes who starred in different Future State titles across DC. The image shows M'Gann M'orzz's Miss Martian, Shiloh Norman's Mister Miracle, Tim Drake's Robin, Jake Jordan's Guardian, Crush from the Teen Titans, and Powerhouse - who's most recently appeared in Future State: Shazam #1. All-in-all, it's a great batch of recruits as the candidates represent some of the best heroes in the future DC Universe.

While it's great to see the future Justice League expanding their roster, it's unknown whether any of these characters will join the team in DC's dark future. With Future State ending soon and a bunch of characters being folded into the new Infinite Frontier timeline (it's still unclear how that's going to happen), it's possible we never see an expanded future Justice League team. However, most of the current team and a bunch of the new recruits will continue on in whatever comes next in the DC Universe - just maybe never as a full-blown Justice League team like this image teases, but readers can always hold on to hop the team does assemble one day.
