WandaVision: 10 Potential Candidates Who Could Be Monica Rambeau’s Contact

WandaVision is wowing viewers with the progression and mystery behind the sitcom life of Wanda Maximoff and Vision. As viewers follow the series, one question has popped up since episode 5. Monica Rambeau continuously mentions a contact who could help her, Darcy, and Agent Woo figure out what is going on around this unusual case and help Rambeau re-enter Wanda's sitcom reality to understand what is truly going on.

The sixth episode implied that she and Agent Woo were on their way to meet a contact, only for all hell to break loose by Wanda and ending with a major cliffhanger. Yet, her contact did not appear, leaving viewers to wait another week. Now, people are guessing who the special contact is. The only clear hint about this contact is that the person is an aerospace engineer. There are a few candidates who may fit this profile.

10 Leo Fitz

Leo Fitz may seem like a stretch, but there are a few reasons why this option is plausible. Fitz has long experiences traveling in space and learned the ins and outs of alien technology and engineering, given that he is a brilliant engineer. Although Agents of Shield has limited relations with the MCU, it would not be the only time that a character from the series makes an appearance in the universe.

In Avengers: Endgame, James D'Arcy reprised Edwin Jarvis, who initially appeared on the Marvel TV show Agent Carter. Therefore, the MCU could introduce more characters who appeared in the Marvel TV shows. Although Fitz has retired as a Shield agent and engineer, it is highly possible that he could serve a one-time favor for Rambeau or that they show an alternate universe of Leo Fitz.

9 Riri Williams/Ironheart

Another candidate who could be the contact is Riri Williams, a.k.a. Ironheart. Williams is a genius. While studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she built her first suit with reverse-engineering. Although the comics do not specify that she specializes in aerospace engineering, Marvel could always make this small adjustment.

In December 2020, Kevin Feige already confirmed that an Ironheart series is in the works, which could be a perfect opportunity to bring her to the big screen. Also, Feige announced the casting of Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. Although chances are unlikely because of her age in the comics, Marvel could age up the character as a young adult so that the relationship with Rambeau appears more believable.

8 Abigail Brand

Although Abigail Brand has not appeared in the MCU, her possibilities as Rambeau's contact could bring her into the limelight. One of the things that makes her a strong candidate is that Brand is a commanding officer of S.W.O.R.D in the comics. She also has some alien heritage, so she is a contact who has some knowledge of the extraordinary world.

The only problem with this choice is that Brand does not meet the criteria as an aerospace engineer. However, Marvel has altered characters before to serve a purpose in a story. It would cool to bring a badass female agent like Brand, who knows aerospace engineering and have some combat skills.

7 Rocket Raccoon

This option may sound like a longshot since Rocket Raccoon mainly traveled in outer space and never arrived on Earth until Battle of Wakanda in Avengers: Infinity War. Rocket was one of the survivors of the snap and has since been an ally to the Avengers. Unfortunately, Monica Rambeau was one of the victims snapped by Thanos.

However, there is one thing that makes Rocket Raccoon a strong candidate; he specializes in aerospace engineering. If Rocket happens to be the contact, he and Rambeau had to have met sometime around the three weeks after "The Blip" and must have made quite an impression to become strong allies. He is acquainted with Captain Marvel, which would help solidify this relationship.

6 Talos' Daughter

Since Captain Marvel took place in the mid-1990s, the whereabouts of Talos' daughter is unknown. People still do not know her real name. However, her already existing ties and childhood friendship with Rambeau make Talos' daughter one of the strongest candidates who could potentially be the contact.

Talos' daughter has traveled around the universe, which means that she probably has strong knowledge about aerospace and perhaps picked up some engineering skills as she grew up. Also, Talos' daughter is the only person who appeared with Rambeau on-screen, which covers how Rambeau knows her contact as a close ally. Since Nick Fury is in space with the Skrulls, Rambeau could have possibly continued her bond with Skrulls and Talos' daughter, which would seem useful for work purposes.

5 Hank McCoy/Beast

Perhaps, Evan Peter's Quicksilver may not be the only X-Men character to appear on the Marvel series. It is becoming clear that the X-Men is slowly becoming canon to the MCU, which means that they will utilize some of the existing characters. Of course, one of the X-Men's most brilliant engineers is Hank McCoy, a.k.a. Beast.

His intelligence is out of this world, knowing anatomy, mechanical engineering, and nanotechnology. He also built the X-Men Blackbird, which covers the specialty of aerospace engineering. However, the proof does not stop here. In the comics, McCoy was briefly a S.W.O.R.D agent. Regardless, his backstory in the comics could resonate on the big screen and explain his affiliation with Rambeau.

4 Victor von Doom

Doctor Doom may sound like another longshot choice as the potential candidate since most Marvel fans know that he is a Fantastic Four villain. Since the Fantastic Four are not in the MCU yet, Doctor Doom could be him before being exposed to comics rays in space.

Like several other candidates, Doctor Doom is also an intelligent engineer despite his political ambitions. It would not be the first time that the MCU has highlighted villains like Loki, who has a soft spot for helping people. Perhaps, his pre-Doctor Doom's introduction could set the stage for not only assisting Rambeau, but his experiences could motivate him in future projects that would lead to his team's destined accident.

3 Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic

Reed Richards, a.k.a Mister Fantastic, is a brilliant scientist and inventor, who knows electrical engineering, aerospace, chemistry, and biology. He fits the profile of an aerospace engineer. Therefore, it is not surprising that Reed Richards became the most popular candidate on the Internet since the release of the sixth episode.

Furthermore, Feige already revealed that the Fantastic Four is in the works, and it may just be a matter of time before one of the characters make their debut in the MCU. Although it remains skeptical that Feige would introduce the Fantastic Four this early in the game, some fans are hoping for a surprise with the possibility of the fan-favorite casting of John Krasinski to portray the intellectual character.

2 Sue Storm/Invisible Woman

There is one last Fantastic Four character who could be Monica Rambeau's contact. Sue Storm, a.k.a. Invisible Woman, is also an intelligent scientist who has experience in space. Sue Storm would be one of the perfect candidates. Her brilliance as a scientist has always been undermined in prior renditions of Fantastic Four, and she may finally receive some recognition.

For Storm to be the contact, questions will arise about how their alliance came to light. If the contact is Storm, it would be a major surprise with a hidden casting by Marvel. Since the Fantastic Four will join the MCU at some point, her introduction could bridge this gap.

1 Adam Brashear/Blue Marvel

Adam Brashear is the strongest candidate who fits the profile of an aerospace engineer and Rambeau's contact. Unlike some of the other choices, Brashear has comic book ties with Rambeau. Their relationship is both professional and personal, including joining The Ultimates and having been romantically linked.

Brashear is also an accomplished engineer and physicist, who could specialize in aerospace engineer with a few backstory tweaks by Marvel. Brashear may not be one of the most notable characters in Marvel. However, it would also prove a great opportunity to include a character like him and expand the universe. It would be a perfect setup for what is in stores for Captain Marvel 2.
