WandaVision's Billy & Tommy Actors Reenact Thor & Cap's Avengers Fight
WandaVision's Billy and Tommy actors, Julian Hilliard and Jett Klyne, recreate Thor and Captain America's fight from 2012's The Avengers. The MCU's Phase 4 finally kicked off in January with the arrival of WandaVision, the franchise's first television series made for Disney+. It follows Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) as they settle into an idyllic sitcom life in the New Jersey town of Westview. However, not everything is as it seems, and as each new episode of WandaVision rolls out, more and more clues about what's really going on are revealed.
WandaVision has featured several game-changing developments, including the creation of Vision and Wanda's two children. After spontaneously getting pregnant in episode 2, Wanda's baby bump progressed at impossible speeds in the next installment, culminating in Billy and Tommy's birth. Though they should have remained babies for a while, Tommy and Billy's powers gave them the ability to grow up on command. As of WandaVision's latest episode, the twins are ten years old, and only time will tell if they progress past that age.
Both Hilliard and Klyne fully embraced the Marvel lifestyle while filming WandaVision episode 6, as revealed in a new video shared by Klyne. The two actors are still dressed in their Halloween Spooktacular costumes, but they're channeling two other MCU heroes with their props: Hilliard holds Captain America's shield, while Klyne wields Thor's hammer. In slow-mo, Klyne swings the hammer until it clashes with the shield, effectively recreating the thrilling moment from The Avengers when Cap and Thor meet. Check it out down below.
Billy and Tommy are far cries from Thor and Captain America, but already they're demonstrating their powers. The most recent episode of WandaVision saw Tommy tap into his speedster abilities, while Billy realized he could hear Vision's distress in his head all the way across town. Fans have speculated their introduction on WandaVision will lead to roles in a potential Young Avengers project, but it's still too soon to know for sure. After all, there's a chance the twins won't make it out of WandaVision, so fans might have to wait and see.
Nevertheless, it's clear Klyne and Hilliard enjoyed their time in the Marvel universe and were all too happy to imitate some of its biggest heroes. Their video also shows how beloved that moment from The Avengers truly is; at the time of its release, the sight of Captain America and Thor colliding in battle was a dream come true. While audiences these days are more used to seeing comic book heroes interact on the big screen, it's nice to see those early MCU scenes still resonate today. WandaVision might represent Marvel's future, but one can always look to the past for some fond memories.
WandaVision continues Friday with episode 7 on Disney+.
