90 Day Fiancé: The Most Underrated Couples In The Franchise

TLC's 90 Day Fiancé has featured many couples since it first aired in 2014, though some of them have undeniably received more of the spotlight. Some explosive personalities, such as Anfisa Arkhipchenko and Larissa Lima, have been impossible to ignore. Many other cast members have also risen to notoriety due to their memorable blowouts and angry divorces. While it's no secret that drama makes for compelling reality television, there are some less dramatic and more down-to-earth couples that many fans feel deserve more recognition.

Viewers have followed some of the most despised cast members due to curiosity, but they have also stuck by many more down-to-earth fan-favorites. When it comes to the most overrated couples, many fans feel as though David and Annie Toborowsky have received enough screen time across their numerous spin-off shows. Fans have also expressed they are tired of seeing couples such as Paola and Russ Mayfield, who document their entire lives on Instagram. While some couples parade their relationship in front of the public and compete for views, what resonates more with fans is lasting, authentic, and relatable romances. Which underrated couples do fans feel deserve a bit more recognition?

Devar Walters and Melanie Bowers appeared on season three of 90 Day Fiancé. If social media is any indication, it appears Devar has earned the title of the most underrated cast member. Looking back, many fans feel the gorgeous Jamaican man is under-appreciated for his charm, looks, and personality. Some even cite Devar as the most attractive man in the franchise. Overall, many views found Devar and his American wife, Melanie, to be an underrated and charming pair. Fans were relieved when the couple revealed they were still together. Melanie and Devar turned a steamy vacation romance into a devoted family unit that fans adore. The two remain happily together and are proud parents to daughter Avah.

Juliana Custodio and Michael Jessen are an understandably polarizing couple due to their considerable age gap. Brazilian Juliana was just 23 when she appeared on season seven alongside her 42-year-old future husband. Despite 19 years between them, the couple turned out to be surprisingly wholesome. Juliana bonded so well with Michael’s ex-wife that she ended up officiating their wedding. While some viewers immediately slammed the couple for the many years between them, those that gave them a chance came to love them. Though some couples have been accused of using their partner, Juliana and Michael presented a genuine romance many audiences came to believe in. Not only was their romance strong, but many viewers appreciated the friendship between the spouses.

Mursel Mistanoglu and Anna Campisi are another season 7 couple who fans believe are seriously underrated. Fans watched the romance between the two sweet and decidedly normal 38-year-olds blossom without most of the show’s usual drama. Many viewers found the couple to be refreshingly normal as they watched them navigate relationship challenges and a growing business. The couple’s biggest problem was Mursel telling his family in Turkey about American Anna’s three children she had out of wedlock. However, he eventually grew close to her kids and came to accept them as his own in a move that resonated well with fans. Many viewers enjoyed the journey of Mursel becoming a sweet stepfather and enjoyed watching him bond with Anna's children.

Daya De Arce and Brett Otto appeared on the show's second season. Some fans find them to be a classic couple, as the two came across as more normal than some of their costars, such as the disastrous partnership between Danielle and Mohamed Jbali. Many current 90 Day Fiancé viewers have expressed that they miss the authenticity of earlier seasons and feel some of the current season eight plotlines have become too scripted. Brett and Daya represent a time when the show was simpler, as the romance between the American and Filipina felt authentic. Others feel Daya received unnecessary fan judgment after an incident with her wedding ring. After the couple recently appeared on the spin-off show 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined, many viewers realized the heartwarming extent of their lasting love.

Kyle Huckabee and Bajaree Boonma, better known as Noon, are another sweet season three couple fans enjoyed seeing. The American met his future wife in her native Thailand when he was doing research, and what blossomed was a sweet and authentic romance. Fans clearly want more kind and authentic couples and less loud and dramatic ones, and Kyle and Noon delivered when it came to charm and love. Viewers watched them struggle through relatable issues, such as affording their own apartment and overcoming familial estrangement. Noon helped her future husband grow close to his previously estranged mother. While some couples brought out the worst in each other, Kyle and Noon helped each other grow. Fans were happy to see the sweet couple stay together after the cameras stopped rolling.

Blake Abelard and Jasmin Lahtinen are another couple fans feel were unfairly judged. The American and Finnish couple appeared on season seven and faced suspicion that Jasmin was using Blake for a green card since he lived near her sister. Though Jasmin received criticism, many fans feel as though she was misunderstood. The introverted European forced herself out of her comfort zone to support Blake, including joining him at clubs, even though it wasn't her scene. Many fans began to reevaluate their opinions of Jasmin when they saw her YouTube content with Blake. The couple appears cute together, and their chemistry can more accurately be sensed on their social media profiles. Many fans now follow the couple on YouTube and have recognized the authenticity of their romance.
