90 Day Fiance: Viewers Outraged At Jovi's Bachelor Party Antics
Most of the men on 90 Day Fiancé season 8 haven’t been getting much love from fans, and Jovi Dufren is no exception. Viewers have taken issue with the New Orleans native’s behavior and the way he treats his fiancé Yara Zaya. Their relationship is a constant struggle between Yara, who wants Jovi to be more mature and responsible, and Jovi, who loves to party. Jovi’s antics have irked fans in the past, but his bachelor party that was featured in a recent episode had viewers seeing red.
Jovi and his Ukrainian fiancé experienced friction as soon as Yara arrived in the U.S. Many fans were on the fence about Yara at first, but they have since come around to her and feel that she has valid critiques of Jovi. Fans agree that Jovi is immature and strongly suspect he has a drinking problem, because the man always seems to have a drink in his hand. In a recent episode, Jovi went to a strip club with friends for his bachelor party, despite the fact that pregnant Yara fell earlier that day and had to see a doctor. At the club he overindulged in alcohol, threw around dollar bills like it was going out of style and followed a stripper upstairs for a private dance.
Fans were livid that Jovi not only went to a strip club, but that he didn’t follow the guidelines that he had agreed to with Yara earlier. “Yep, let’s celebrate your pregnant wife by degrading women. Yay!” one fan sarcastically commented. Many were turned off by how at home Jovi seemed in the strip club, calling him and his friends “pure redneck swamp trash.” Fans argued that his behavior was immature for someone with a baby on the way, “dude is going to have a very rude awakening when he has to support his wife and infant,” one said.
There is a consensus among fans that Jovi needs to rethink his lifestyle and make adjustments so he can better support his fiancé and child. One fan pointed out that because he spends one month at work and one month at home, he seems to be fitting in as much "fun" as possible when he’s at home, calling it “spring break on steroids.” Fans also pointed out that because Yara suffered a miscarriage before, Jovi should be extra helpful and available to Yara after her fall. Instead, Jovi left her to go to a strip club.
Because Yara is pregnant, and based on internet rumors, it’s most likely that Jovi and Yara are still together after being on 90 Day Fiancé. They may still be together, but fans hope their relationship dynamic has changed, because Yara doesn’t deserve what she was putting up with. Perhaps with his bachelor party behind him, Jovi will turn a corner with his attitude and behavior and shape up into the man Yara needs him to be.
