Masked Dancer: Every Celeb Unmasked In Season 1 | ScreenRant
The Masked Singer has proven to be a very popular concept and series, therefore the only logical next step was to take things from singing to dancing. That's exactly what happened with The Masked Dancer, which saw the same bright and crazy costumes, from Sloth to Cotton Candy, and had the same concept of celebrities trying to hide their identity.
The first season is now in the history books, with some epic dances having taken place and the show didn't hold back when it came to the cast of celebrities. From scientists to boxers and everything in between, here are the celebrities who were unmasked in season one.
10 Disco Ball - Ice-T

Ice-T was one of the biggest names that was part of The Masked Dancer, yet he was eliminated in the first week. Best known for his incredible career in rap, Ice-T is an international celebrity. Additionally, he has dipped his toes in the world of acting as well.
Ice-T was dressed as a disco ball on The Masked Dancer, but he failed to impress with his moves and was swiftly eliminated. However, there was certainly a lot of surprise when he unveiled who was behind the mask, which started the show off in a brilliant manner.
9 Ice Cube - Bill Nye

While the costume of Ice Cube may have actually been better suited to Ice-T simply because of his name, it was actually Bill Nye who was behind this particular mask. His costume was linked to climate change, which works well considering his job.
Bill Nye is a very well-known name, as he is a science communicator and a television personality. He's helped to educate millions of people about different scientific subjects, always managing to do it in an entertaining way. This was certainly out of his comfort zone, but Bill was his usual endearing self during his short stint on the series.
8 Moth - Elizabeth Smart

Moth had one of the greatest costumes on the entire show, with a fantastic outfit that really was perfect for the dancing competition. However, that didn't help Moth in the long run, as this character was eliminated in the third week of the series.
Underneath the mask was none other than Elizabeth Smart, who is a talented author as well as an advocate for child safety. Elizabeth has done some tremendous work in this field, channeling her own experiences to help others.
7 Cricket - Brian McKnight

Brian McKnight is someone people would've expected to show up on The Masked Singer, rather than the dancing spin-off. He is a very talented singer, with many studio albums to his name over the course of his career.
His showmanship did shine through in his performances, as he was clearly comfortable being on the stage. He is someone who the judges really struggled to guess, however, Paula managed to pull it out of the bag at the last second, predicting him in her final pick.
6 Hammerhead - Vinny Guadagnino

Hammerhead brought a lot of excitement and energy to all of their performances, with Vinny Guadagnino putting in 110% every time he hit the stage. Because he was such a physical presence, the judge's guesses for him often ranged wildly within the sporting world.
However, it actually ended up being a reality television star, Vinny Guadagnino, behind the mask. Vinny is best known for his role on the cast of The Jersey Shore. He showcased all of his personality within this show and never seemed to be phased by the situation.
5 Exotic Bird - Jordin Sparks

The Exotic Bird brought a lot of fantastic performances throughout the show and was actually a shocking early exit. A lot of people felt that Exotic Bird had the chance to go all the way and possibly win the show, but the character was eliminated in week six.
Underneath the mask was Jordin Sparks, who is a former American Idol victor and a talented singer. However, as she showcased throughout this series, she's also someone who has great dance moves as well.
4 Zebra - Oscar De La Hoya

Zebra advanced all the way until the semifinals before being axed by the show, and it was certainly surprising to see a boxer be underneath the mask. Oscar De La Hoya has spent his career in the ring, so in some ways, this was a departure for him, but in others, it wasn't so far from his wheelhouse.
He proved to be really entertaining in this role, having some fun performances throughout his time on the show. He certainly showed that boxers are light on their feet with his dance moves. Overall, he was one of the most memorable performers throughout the show.
3 Tulip - Mackenzie Ziegler

Tulip took the bronze medal prize from the first-ever season of The Masked Dancer, making it all the way to the final only to just fall short at the final hurdle. Her performances were always enjoyable, but in the end, weren't quite good enough to get the win.
It was Mackenzie Ziegler underneath the mask, who is someone who does have a dance background. Best known for her role on Dance Moms, she's certainly not shy, and she is very popular on social media. The show proved to be a big hit and certainly took her career to new heights.
2 Sloth - Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Speaking of dance experience, out of everybody on the show Maksim Chemkovskiy was the most experienced when it came to dancing. It made sense to have a professional dancer on the show and Maksim is a former Dancing With The Stars professional.
His performances were always of a very high standard, which isn't surprising at all and Maksim also put a lot of character into Sloth. His dances were often very funny, but once again, Paula Abdul was able to predict this one.
1 Cotton Candy - Gabby Douglas

While Maksim was a brilliant dancer, he was denied victory by Olympic athlete, Gabby Douglas. She was Cotton Candy throughout the show, and she was very entertaining with her performances, which is no surprise considering the fact Gabby is a gymnast.
She was able to have some amazing dances, which included using extra equipment to dance around in the air, while also showing her gymnastic abilities. She was always a clear favorite to win. It was a lot of fun to see that it was Gabby underneath the mask.
