Party Down Show Revival In The Works With Original Cast

A Party Down revival may be coming soon with the original cast reprising their roles. The Starz workplace sitcom follows the familiar narrative of aspiring actors and writers hoping to make it big in Hollywood while working on a catering team called Party Down. The show was critically acclaimed and received a cult following, but was cancelled after two seasons and twenty episodes due to low ratings and the loss of actors to other shows. The series starred many actors who would later be in more popular, well-known shows such as Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation), Jane Lynch (Glee), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), and Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex).
Now according to THR, a six-part limited series revival of the show is in the works. Co-creator, John Enbom, is planned to serve as the showrunner. Co-creator, Rob Thomas, stated that everyone has been trying to find a way to come back to the show since the cast and creators got together to look back at the show in 2019. Adam Scott also crossed his fingers posting the news on Twitter. Thomas went on to comment:
At the end of 2019, the ‘Party Down’ cast and producers were all reunited at a retrospective for the show hosted by Vulture. We had such a good time that we wanted to find a way to get the team back together again. The cast is so busy these days that finding a window where we can do it may require trigonometry, but we’re determined to make it happen.

After being cancelled in 2010 with Jane Lynch leaving the first season to be in Glee and Adam Scott moving to Parks and Recreation, fans have been waiting for an opportunity for the show to come back. While nothing has been officially ordered, fans can get their hopes up for the return of the clever and outrageous sitcom after over a decade. Starz is currently in development with co-creators Thomas, Enbom, Dan Etheridge, and Paul Rudd for the revival. While it is not clear yet on all the cast members returning, hopefully everything works out so that fans will be able to see the entire team back together for Party Down.
