Valheim Mod Makes the Game Less Blurry (Or More, If You Want)

The newest Valheim mod takes visuals to the next level by allowing players to change the focus distance, thus making the game less blurry (or more, if they want). Valheim wouldn’t necessarily be described as the most graphically advanced game on the market, but the gameplay, combat, and endless build possibilities make the game irresistible to fans. What the game lacks in stunning visuals it makes up for in rewarding experiences, and in one instance, a fan even built an entire Star Wars AT-AT to protect their Valheim base. The game was also only developed by a five-person Indie team, and making the game as good as it looks was a feat in itself. A fan, however, has taken visuals into their hands by giving players a way to adjust blur to their liking.

Valheim mods can transform the game, making gameplay, combat, and even building a lot more fun. Some mods give players enhanced kicks, while others make it so players can make trolls and goblins their pets. One mod even lets players make their Vikings as big or as small as they want, turning Valheim players into titans. Now, a new mod fixes the visual components of the game, revealing Valheim’s dangerous world through a new lens.

Valheim player and modder, SSyl, uploaded a mod to NexusMods called "Custom Depth of Field" that lets players change the minimum and maximum values for the game’s depth of field. The game’s default depth of field is 50 and SSyl recommends 75 if they want to eliminate the blur. The mod is meant for customization, giving players the ability to adjust where necessary to get the perfect visuals for their game.

Valheim mods often add incredible things to the game but, this particular mod is fairly simple. While it doesn’t add a plethora of new features or transform Valheim's crafting, combat, or exploration, it can still be extremely valuable in fixing a key component of the game. The visuals of Valheim are where the game lacks the most, but being able to fix the blur and the depth of field goes a long way in solving the problem. Oh, and if the mod doesn’t seem to be working, it’s most likely because the play hasn’t enabled depth of field in-game, and must be turned on by going to “Settings” and then to “Graphics.”

Of course, the mod doesn’t add fancy graphics or new weapons to Valheim, but it may just make your friend look a lot less blurry when you are destroying them in Valheim fight club. While the improved graphics might not be coming to Valheim anytime soon, this mod should make the game a bit easier on the eyes. And for players hoarding Grey Dwarf Eyes, that is some swell news.
