Warzone Invisible Player Glitch Invades Verdansk Once Again
Although Call of Duty: Warzone recently celebrated its one-year anniversary, it, unfortunately, seems as though game-breaking bugs are still occurring with regularity. This time, a player has found a way to become completely invisible during the game. This should not be confused with another recent invisibility bug that allowed players in the Armored Royale game mode to become invisible, or the infamous Warzone Roze skin, an all-black operator skin that renders users almost completely invisible when standing in shadows or against dark backgrounds. Of course, the Roze skin itself isn’t technically a bug, but the Call of Duty community has recently been calling for its removal or alteration due to the unfair advantage it provides.
This new invisibility glitch is sadly one more to add to the list of bugs in Warzone Activision has had to go back and fix. Other glitches of note include one that allows players to use stims infinitely, allowing them to survive in the poisonous gas for as long as they want and another that lets players fly helicopters underneath the map. These constant glitches have been an increasing source of frustration for Warzone fans, particularly as the stakes in Battle Royale game modes are so high. This is to say nothing of the hackers present in the game, whom Activision appears to be having difficulty keeping up with despite widespread ban waves.
This latest glitch was first discovered when Reddit user fcpl (via Dexerto) uploaded a clip showing themselves repeatedly dying to an invisible enemy. Not only is the enemy invisible, but the bullets are invisible as well. At first glance, players may assume that that the enemy player may be using the Roze skin or hiding particularly well, but the kill cam blatantly shows that they were killed by someone standing directly in front of them. This is especially obvious during their final death on a helipad, where the enemy player was shown to be standing directly in the middle of the rooftop with no cover or dark surfaces around.
Many in the comments have tried pinpointing why this is happening. The Redditor makes the case that it may be an unintentional bug rather than a hack, as the enemy player acts as though they do not know they’re invisible. In the kill cam, the enemy is hiding before fcpl walks in. Other commenters suspect that it may be a ping issue, although fcpl has noted that both players’ pings were fairly low. The final theory was simply that the game is missing a skin texture, although that would not account for the enemy players’ bullets not being displayed.
Regardless of what the reason is, it’s clear that this should be addressed if other players begin encountering it. This is especially true if the enemy player was not hacking but rather inadvertently exploiting some unknown bug. An actual bug in the game would mean that players will eventually learn how to manipulate and exploit it, which would make the game virtually unplayable for those not doing so. It’s unfortunate that this is the latest in a long line of game-breaking glitches present in Warzone, especially after Activision has been trying to address these issues much faster. Hopefully, this invisibility glitch is a one-time error, but players should still keep their eyes peeled–for all the good that will do them.
