Boxing Ring and Temple in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate | ScreenRant
Even though Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is nearing its third anniversary, it is still one of the most popular games on the Nintendo Switch. This is not too surprising, as the series has been among the best from Nintendo ever since its first installment back in 1999. The series grows immensely since the original Super Smash Bros., as not only does the game add a plethora of new characters over the years, but also stages. Thus, in turn, the game never loses its luster because it simply has so much to explore.
Now, that is not to say that the original stages are bad. In fact, that is quite the contrary. Some of the best stages in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate actually are in the original edition, too. The game definitely benefits from its newer stages as well, so overall, there is just a wonderful balance between them all. Yet, there are a select few stages that stand out from the rest.
10 Boxing Ring
The Boxing Ring stage fits in well with this game, as obviously, it is built for fighting. It is in the game due to the arrival of Little Mac to the game. It is hard not to enjoy this stage, as it has a lot going for it.
It is inside a large indoor stadium, which gives it a background full of bright lights, a jumbotron, and even actual fans in attendance. It is certainly unlike any other venue in the game, so it warrants praise.
9 Battlefield
Battlefield is one of the most popular stages in the entire game. It is inspired by the series itself, so it is where the player will face a lot of their opponents in story modes. It is breathtaking with its aesthetics, too, as the giant waterfalls make for a spectacular view.
It also is the perfect stage to play on if gamers want no funny business when fighting. It requires skill to win, as there are no obstacles and foes on this stage that can cause damage.
8 Fountain of Dreams
The first game that Fountain of Dreams appears in is Super Smash Bros. Melee. Even on the Nintendo GameCube, it is gorgeous because of its bright colors and angelic style and motif.
However, due to the power of the Nintendo Switch, it looks far better in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It also gains serious praise from gamers because of its great soundtrack choice, too.
7 Warioware, Inc.
Warioware, Inc. is certainly one of the most memorable stages in this game. This is largely because of the fact that it is really original and unique. It pays homage to the WarioWare, Inc. video games series, so it is full of intriguing hand-drawn obstacles that can cause serious damage.
This really allows it to have its own identity, so it is hard to find a stage to compare it to. It also is one that can be difficult for new players of the game, so it does take some time to master.
6 Temple
Temple is one of the largest stages in the entire game, which does make it more memorable. Upon seeing it, the player instantly realizes just how beautiful it is in appearance. That is just the beginning of the equation, however.
It offers a number of different elevations, which in turn, prolongs battles. It can become quite difficult to fall off this stage because of this, so it offers very combative gameplay. It also does a great job painting a picture of The Legend of Zelda series.
5 New Donk City Hall
New Donk City Hall makes its debut in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, much to the satisfaction of its players. It makes sense that it begins its journey with this game, as it is a huge part of Super Mario Odyssey.
Something interesting about this that it constantly changes the elevation in which battles take place. The platform carries the fighters up to the top of New Donk City Hall, which constantly leaves players exploring new elements and sights to be seen.
4 Pokémon Stadium
Fans of Pokémon tend to choose Pokémon Stadium as the place to battle. It is another stage that changes in appearance as the battle carries on. It pays homage to different Pokémon types, as there are grass, fire, rock, and water versions of the stage.
It also is rather entertaining to fight on, as it offers a plethora of Pokéballs are power-ups. This forces the fighters to be on their toes, as the chance of being thwarted by a legendary Pokémon is quite high.
3 Final Destination
Final Destination is one of the most iconic stages in the game. A massive reason why is that it is where the player has their final battles with the primary boss of this game, Master Hand.
Gamers cannot ignore this, sure, but what also works well with this stage is that it has spectacular colors, too. It takes place in the night sky as well, so it does have a doomsday-type vibe to it.
2 Dream Land
Dream Land is a stage that will forever be a fan favorite amongst players in this game. It is another example of a stage that is in the original Super Smash Bros, so that certainly enhances the fan nostalgia.
The infamous tree that blows air to knock opponents off the stage can be irritating, but it is very memorable. Also, the overall happy and peaceful scenery offers a great contrast to the battles that are occurring. The rainbows and bright colors are simply a façade.
1 Delfino Plaza
Delfino Plaza certainly warrants a spot in the game, as it is where one of Nintendo's most popular games takes place, Super Mario Sunshine. It does a good job paying respect to it, as this stage is among the best in the game.
It is another stage that offers its players many changes throughout it. It flies its fighters to many different locations on Isle Delfino, which naturally allows the player to feel a strong sense of nostalgia.
