Star Wars: Every Member Of The Skywalker Family, Ranked By Power

The Skywalker family is at the heart of everything to do with the Star Wars movies, with the story crossing over multiple generations worth of characters, all of who have their own personalities and traits. Each character brings something new to the story overall, and the tale is one that audiences have certainly latched onto.

The Skywalker characters tend to be some of the most powerful across the galaxy as well, with the Force being very strong within them. But not every character is massively powerful, with some having far greater abilities than others, which makes them stand out more.

8 Shmi Skywalker-Lars

Out of all the members of the Skywalker family, Shmi Skywalker-Lars is certainly the least powerful and is also the character that gets the least amount of screentime. Shmi is the mother of Anakin, which really is the beginning of the Skywalker saga, and she certainly has a very tough life.

Shmi shows plenty of power in being able to deal with the difficult hand she's been dealt as she's sold to the Hutts, but she has no real abilities to showcase. However, her death does start to take Anakin on his darker path, as he struggles to deal with his emotions.

7 Padmé Amidala

Much like Shmi, Padmé Amidala isn't Force-sensitive either, and in a family that has so many that are able to pull on that, it instantly makes her one of the least powerful people within the family. Of course, Padmé only marries into the Skywalker family via her relationship with Anakin.

However, she is the mother of both Leia and Luke, playing a very significant role in the family tree. She may not be powerful in terms of using the Force of wielding a lightsaber, but she does understand the politics of the galaxy, and she is able to influence things in that manner.

6 Han Solo

Much like Padmé Amidala, Han Solo isn't born into this family, and instead, he joins it via marriage, in this case with Leia. This leads to him not being able to use the Force either, but that doesn't mean that Han isn't a powerful character, as he has plenty of tricks up his sleeve.

Of course, Han is a gifted pilot, which he showcases throughout the saga, while also being comfortable with a blaster in his hand. But Han's real power is his gift of the gab, which allows him to get out of many sticky situations.

5 Leia Organa-Skywalker

Leia Organa-Skywalker is someone who has great powers and is able to use the Force, but it isn't something she does on a regular basis. She can feel people and their presence, knowing when others are in pain, and she is able to really channel energy between herself and others.

However, while her ability to use the Force is impressive, it is actually her military work and organization that makes Leia stand out as a character. She is incredibly intelligent and knows exactly what to do, being able to read situations well, to get the best out of others with her kindness.

4 Ben Solo

Ben Solo is the son of Leia and Han and he is someone who is certainly very strong. Having learned under Luke Skywalker, Ben is able to use the Force and he is also very equipped in battle with a lightsaber, with his fighting abilities being incredible.

However, the only thing that really holds Ben back is his own emotions. He is an incredibly conflicted character, struggling to determine what path he should follow and how he should behave, which often leads to him making mistakes or rash decisions.

3 Rey Skywalker

While Ben Solo is able to use the Force a lot sooner than Rey, once she begins to learn who she really is and the powers that she has, it becomes clear that she is slightly more powerful. Rey might not have had the extensive training of Ben, but her natural ability to channel the Force is what makes her so strong.

Rey is really able to dig deep within herself to find her powers, and the fact she has so much strength for someone with so little training is very impressive. She quickly adapts to situations and her excellent intelligence and firm grip of her emotions really helps drive her as a strong member of the family.

2 Anakin Skywalker

Whether he's Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader, this complex character is easily one of the most powerful within the Skywalker family. He's someone who is able to channel the Force from a very young age, and he's incredibly intelligent as well.

A great pilot and a very skilled fighter, Anakin is someone that all of the Jedi have high hopes for, purely because of the power that he possesses. Ultimately, his path leads him to the dark side, where he grows even stronger, making him one of the most dominant forces in the saga.

1 Luke Skywalker

When it comes to the Skywalker family, Luke is always the character that people go to first, and with good reason. He's the ultimate hero of the Star Wars story and someone who is incredibly powerful, having learned from two of the best in Ben Kenobi and Yoda.

Luke might not start out strong, but by the end of his personal journey, he has completely mastered the art of being a Jedi and has truly become one with the Force. Strong with a lightsaber, smart enough to know how to handle certain situations, and able to eventually control his emotions, Luke is the ultimate Jedi.
